92 roll-over

My son rolled his 92 4Runner the same day we registered it. We owned it for 31 days before the event, the tail gate glass is gone along with the rear side glass, hood, fenders and the top is trash.
Once up right he was shockingly smart enough to pull the plugs and turned it over to pump out what ever fluids ended up on the top side. Burned white for a bit but shockingly now runs fine. Also goes down the road straight no bent wheels or axles.
My question I found a 90 on CL less front fenders, hood, engine and trans. Is the body the sames as the 92? The guy want 200 Im thinking it would be nice to swap the body and have a real truck again, if not he drives it minus the rear glass. thanks

Yup, 90' is the same generation as your sons 92'.
To get a full parts truck for 200 sounds like a good deal!

Everything should be the same except the engine harness If it was a different size engine. It came with two options 4cyl or 6cyl. Most common was the v6

like Bad Vision said, as long as the engines/trans are the same you should not have any issues with a swap. If one is a 22R vs V6 or manual vs Auto you will be looking at some wiring swap.

There are differences in the wiring harness on the 3.0 v6. I think the change was at 92. The older engines have a different distributor plugwires and a different timing belt tensioner. Some of that shouldn't mater but some will. I had a buddy that did an engine swap in his pickup and he got the wrong year range engine and ended up having to redo some plugs and other things. I don't think it was anything major though.
