Hi to everyone.
First post today on this forum. My son accuired a 93 4 runner with a 3.0 Liter engine from a friend. The truck quit running when his freind drove it over to our house. His friend didn't want to fool with it so my son bought it.
Long story short, the timing was off (cam spocket was off some). The cam timing is correct now and the truck will start but only runs for a few seconds and dies. The truck will restart again but only if the ignition key is turn off and then you try to restart it.
Done some searching on different forums. A few said it might be fuel related but most said it would possibly be related to the ignitor signal to or from the ecu.
I have tried to pull the codes but there is none stored. I need some info on how to check to see if the ecu is actually sending a signal and receiving it back to keep it running.
I have read that if the ecu doesn't see a singal back it turns the injectors off to protect the cats.
