My Mom's '93 Automatic SR5' engine died. I can have the car for free (or very little, couple hundred at most.) I know putting a 3.0 back in is a bad idea, it appears swapping for a 3.4L 5VZ is the thing to do. I have a relative who runs a garage and can do the work if I supply an engine. The car was garaged and the paint still looks good; I drove it six months ago and the truck was still tight after 19 years. Never wrecked, never driven off road.
Is the swap going to be straightforward enough that it won't be labor intensive or should I abandon this idea now?
