my 4runner does not have power. runs good but acts like it has half throttle don't have enough power to pull a hill computer says knock sensor will this cause that an where is knock sensor located on motor v6

yep..will cause loss of power..and the knock sensor is in a horrible place..I blew my headgasket and while I had the whole top end removed I replaced the pigtail for the sensor, which is usually the culprit failure versus the actual sensor.

I agree with loko ino--if you're getting a false signal from the knock sensor, it will cause the computer to retard the ignition to prevent detonation, which kills your power. It's a proven fact that these engines work best with even more advance than the factory settings, so to go backwards from the factory settings will definitely hurt your power output.
