97 4runner DRL not working, need help

I have a 97 4runner, the daytime running lights stoped working, the lights work fine if you turn the switch. Does anyone know what controls the DRL system?, is there a relay or something???

Any help would be great.

I didn't know 97s had DRLs. There's a mod to disable them which may give you ideas on how to fix them as well.

This is the wiring diagram from a 2002 US with DRL's. There are two relays, D8 and D9. The locations are shown here:

I think yours will be similar, but the system evolved over the years as the delete mods are different by year.

it's too bad Canada is still mandating this essentially de-bunked DRL requirement, but I guess in some northern areas of Canada DRLs might have some minimal benefit. I was extremely pleased Toyota made the DRL a manual driver-controlled option in my 2013 model. Here in the U.S. lots of drivers have found ways to bypass DRL since it is not required by law and is often a nuisance...
