I have a 1997 4runner SR5 2WD with a stuck sunroof.
I noticed that there are some screws that are accessible from inside the cabin while sitting in the drivers seat.
These screws appear to hold the sunroof glass to the rail system.
Can anyone please confirm this?
I want to remove the glass in an effort to clean the tracks and remove the hardened grease and gunk that may be keeping the sunroof from opening.
The motor works as it tries to open the sunroof but cannot muster up enough force to break it free.
These are the screws I am referring to:
The first two pics are of the side rail, two screws in the back and two in the front.
The last pic is of a vertical screw that you can barely see it is located in the frontal area of the sunroof in the very corner.
I am not sure if this needs to be removed as well
