97 T4R - 233k is it the tranny?

I have some hesitation/shuttering when I'm up around 50+ mph and I'm accelerating. Has anyone ever had this issue? Fluid is full, clean, and no metal in it. Could it be something else? I'm stumped.

Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mine used to shudder when accelerating slowly at hwy speeds. Slowly as in not fast enough to cause a downshift. It would stay in over drive. It was the spark plugs. I changed them and the wires and it hasn't shuddered since.

That is EXACTLY what it is doing! Thanks kball! I'll do the plugs and wires and see if it goes away. Any favorite brands on plugs and wires?

Fav's? yeah, around here the favorites are the factory plugs. NGK or Denso dual ground plugs ONLY! NGK has a nice set of wires you can find on Amazon. Here's a link...

I agree with kball. Sounds like your engine is missing so hopefully plugs/wires will take care of it.

Glad to hear it worked! Makes me cringe thinking about all the people that would have gone to the dealer and said "I think there's something wrong with my transmission"... leaving the door wide open for the dealer to bend them over.
