98 4Runner Help

Hello my fellow 4runner drivers about a week ago some D*ck Head decided to steal parts from under my 4runner and was wondering if anyone could help me out and send me pictures from under the car near where the catalytic converter is located thank you

Sorry that happened man, got ppl like that around my neighborhood it sucks. No picture right now, but the cat converter is more towards the passenger side of the truck and I think just about in between the front passenger door and the rear passenger side door. Maybe a little more up front closer to the front

yea man it sucks well they sawed off the pipe which was a pain in the ass but idk it looks like there is something else missing just want to see to be sure

my girlfriend used to have a 95 4runner and she had hers taken while at the mall and then i had mine taken while i was at work. this was a couple years ago and happened a couple months apart. pretty sure that the only thing they took was the cat because they are just after the expensive metal in those to make some money.

I've heard on the 3rd gens the cat is made of all copper... it that's true, then they are worth $5,000. (Don't know if that;s true, but around 2007ish there was a out break of people stealing cats of the 3rd gens here in ATL) They would go to the mall and get them, any where they could. I would but I wouldn't dare touch another man's pride & joy, I would just want the $ from it if that is true LOL

the Toyota dealership I work at, last year, overnight someone stole the cats off of 7 brand new V6 tacomas, thats 2 cats per truck, they even got the a/f and 02 sensors off each truck, they unplugged the sensors off of 6 of the tacoms, 1 tacoma they cut the wires before the sensor plug. since it was a brand new truck, we couldnt just splice a new sensor plug, the entire wiring harness had to be replaced

Actually,

They've got miniscule bits of platinum and other precious metals/catalysts. They go for $50-$70 at a metal recycler (who shouldn't even be accepting old cats anymore).

Whoever told you they're made of pure copper was either 10 years old or talking out of their ass, lol.
