MAINTENANCE
I have done a ton of preventative maintenance to make this a reliable vehicle for remote back country travel. In the last 7,000 miles/1.5 years I have done:
• Replaced lower ball joints, outer tie rods, inner tie rods, alignment cams etc, heavy duty Safari LTD steering rack, steering rack bushings, lower control arm bushings, fuel filter, and battery.
• New CVJ CV axles with long travel inner boots.
• Tune Up including plugs, wires, air filter and cleaning the mass air flow sensor new PCV valve and grommet.
• Radiator flush
• Power steering flush
• Rear axle service: Wheel bearings, axle seals, brake shoes and new fluid in the differential.
• Replaced filter and engine oil with full synthetic high mileage.
• Mobil1 full synthetic in front differential.
I have receipts for all work performed which are included with sale, I use OEM Toyota parts with a few minor exceptions when a better aftermarket option exists (ie poly bushings, heavy duty steering rack).
Previous owner stated he had just put in a new clutch when I bought it, but have no documentation.
CONDITION
249,000 miles
This is a very mechanically sound rig with one of Toyotas most legendary motors and is ready to go anywhere as is. It has been a trail/hunting truck for me so it does have some cosmetic damage. The drivers front fender and door are dented, from before I bought it. There are typical scratches, rock chips and small dings generally found on a trail truck.
The front leather seats are worn as are the cheap seat covers over them. The back seat is in pretty good shape. All options function as they should; power windows/locks, sunroof, CD/tape player/radio, power antenna, cruise control, AC/heater.
