'98 ECU pinouts

Hi everyone,

I'm about to start my 5-speed swap on my '98 auto and I need help finding the ECU pins for both the auto and 5-speed ECU's.

I have a '98 5-speed ECU but some say it won't work with my auto harness, while others say it's plug n play. I don't want to burn anything up so I'm trying to get confirmation.

Thanks!
Jim

It will plug in because in 98 Toyota standardized the connectors on the ECM so manual and autos were the same. The problem is that you can't plug any of that harness into your 5spd. You may be able to plug it in with no harm to the ECM and just a few non functioning items, but you are going to have to de-pin the harness or replace it with a manual one from a donor to have back up lights, clutch safety switch, cruise control, speedo, etc. I have all the wiring diagrams and pin outs printed out, but they are at work so I can't access them right now

Thanks! I have all of the harnesses from the '99 donor as well as the '98 M/T ECU and I think I'd much rather re-pin my '98 harness than swap all those damn harnesses.

I did a 5 speed swap in my 98 2 years ago - I used all factory auto connectors except I did swap the engine harness to the 5 speed one and it all worked fine.
