98 Key-less Entry

My remote for my 98 has two buttons. The top one locks and unlocks the doors. The bottom one doesnt do anything, but the LED lights up when I press it. What is the button supposed to do?

Rear Glass

It is for the real glass retractor. But probably it is not working for some reason, but thats what it is for.

Any ideas on how I can make it work? I figured that was what it was for, and I'd like that to work.

Does your back window works from inside the truck? if yes. Then it could be an issue with Remote itself. If not, then your actuator might be out. I have a 98 Runner without factory remote, i have Viper 5900 in it and i'm waiting to put that remote back window retractor in mine I would check with the Stereo Shops who do installation, they might be able to check ur remote to see if thats the problem. but is there a trick to do it? more than just pushing the button? mine flashes when i push it or hold it down so i think it works but not sure how to use it

The 98 has the 3000 model alarm. The bottom button is for another vehicle fitted with the same alarm. The 99 onwards has the 32000 model alarm which includes the rear window control.
