98 limited exhaust smell

Hi all,

Went to look at a used 98 4runner limited 3.4L V6 today, 205k miles, everything checked out pretty well mechanically, only thing was exhaust had a slight off smell, my wife noticed it more than I did. Any thoughts? Wondering if a sensor issue that's not too big of a deal, or something more serious.

Also it had the 'key stuck in ignition issue' pretty bad, I've read elsewhere that may just be a matter of the gear selector switch.

Do you only smell the exhaust when it starts up after being off for a while? Because that pretty common for me.
