98 to 99+ features

Hello everyone. I love the 99-02 runner but I can't find a decent one with lower miles and 4x4 to save my life. I've found a 98 with only 90k mikes for $6400, well within my price range. But I hate the non digital odometer, the center console with no cup holders and the front end is boring in my opinion. So my question is can I switch 99-02 headlights and front bumper with no problems as well as the center console? I'm not to worried about the odometer but if i could switch that to it would be nice. Thanks.

It can all be switched, some parts you've listed require other parts to go with them (ebrake handle with center console swap, etc). This stuff is all documented in the forum, take a look around when you get a chance.

The front end is boring? The 99 - 01s have that horrible "fat lip" bumper that actually is less off-road capable than a 96-98.

just got with a tube or plate bumper4, looks better then either stock bumpers.

Very true about the offroading aspect but I guess I like the 99-02 bumper better. So even the odometer can be switched?

I dont know for sure but I think the dash and odometer are one unit that has a VIN number to match the truck.

even if you could swap it, that would probably be illegal and result in a salvage title upon inspection.

Just wait til you find the 99+ model. They exist. You'll be happier if you just wait for the one you want.
