98WhiteT4R's Build Thread

Small update, was getting some steering wheel shake that started to get annoying. Ended up being LBJ's and few other things I didnt fix yet. The last LBJ's lasted 35k miles (yes OEM) which sucks put just one of the perks of being lifted and off roading. I also but on a diff-drop kit I've had for over a year:doh:

Finally got some "off road driving lights", I went with KC's because I think they look cool and are a good price.

Install was kind of a pain, mainly because I did it outside instead of the garage:frusty:

This was probably the most annoying part

It all worked out though

Its nice to finally fill up those gaps in the CBI hybrid, I'll add more pics when I adjust the beams in the dark tonight.

Loving that grille!!

Added some CoverKing seat covers since my leather was getting pretty bad. Im happy with them...install was very easy and the price was great. They are a little loose but you're supposed to retighten them after a few days of sitting in them.

Now I need to figure out what to do with the steering wheel.

I Was in the same boat, mine had a large chunk at the 2 of clock position...filled the missing area with great stuff, shapped it lightly wrapped it with tape and wrapped it with this. Feels alot thicker. Looks good.
Nice build! I hope my 4 Runner looks as good when I'm done with it!

Now that there is some old school! Contemplating doing the same to mine (have used those covers since almost forever) or going with the Wheelskins cover.

One is cheap and like comfort food for me, the other is more expensive, smoother and cleaner looking. Really having trouble deciding....

Where are you going to put the lift ring on the front shock? (At least I think that's where you are going be putting the Bilsteins.) I have the 891's in back with the 5100's and have a spacer in front that is only 1.19" thick. They said it's suppose to provide a 3" lift to level off the truck. (OEM springs in front for now) Any suggestions? Thanks!

Im not 100% sure yet (installing them tomorrow) but Im thinking one of the lower settings since the OME 883's provide plenty of lift and the Tundra Bilsteins are designed to support a V8. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the lowest setting works for me but I'll post up the results and review of them with the OME coils tomorrow.

Much appreciated. I'm putting mine on by the end of the week and I don't feel like taking the coils off twice.. So, I'll either do the bottom one, or possibly one up.. But, definitely curious to see what you have to say.

I used the lowest perch setting and it ended up being the same height as the OME shocks (which is what I wanted)

That looks sharp! Those 883's were for the front, correct? I'm wondering what it would look like with stock springs and a 1.5" spacer to level everything off. (And as stated before - these spacers are apparently suppose to give it a 3" lift with stock springs)

Yup 883 in the front which are supposed to yield 3'' of lift.
