Yeah, this mod is quite common and has been covered many times on this board but what is the "other" thread are you talking about.

I know there was a thread about this mod, but I found another one, and though it might be helpful.

This mod is for changing your fogs to come on when you have your parking lamps on, and not just when you switch on your headlights.

Hope this helps!

So if I have an 01 and my DRL has already been disabled for years now.

Do I still have to do the bottom part that starts with "After doing your mod, owners of the 2001-02 model year trucks need to locate the green and black wire in pin #16 of the connector to the DRL relay, relay D8..." ???

I have new Baja designs wide cornering lights for my fog lights and am curious about doing the fog light mod.

Sugjavier, Im also looking for the answer to this question, I actually have a thread going on it with no response. (link https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/266797-foglight-independence-wiring-issues-please-help.html).

Did you ever figure out if that Green/Black wire needs to be grounded?

Thanks!

Hey man happy new year,

So I didn't actually go through the mod when I got my Baja Design Wide cornering lights. I just had them use the switch (now located near the heated seats buttons) and direct wire it VS using the stock fog light stalk.

Reason being, I wanted to make sure I have fog light independence. 2nd reason I didn't want those on with the parking lights is because I think they use more power than stock fog lights so I don't wanna drain my battery
