99 4runner stalled

Hi to everyone, newbie here. I don't own a 4runner yet, but almost. I went to look at a 99 4runner at a toyota dealer, when I went to to start the truck the truck died twice after the idle was around 500 rpm. Third time it stayed running but I smelled a quick odor of gas and then the truck idled at about 1200 rpm, but as soon as I put it in gear the idle dropped to normal. The salesman said it probably was because it was sitting for awhile, I don't think so. The dealer is supposed to look at the truck to see why it did that. I am interested in the vehicle, it drove nice and is in good shape. Its a 99 sr5 4x4 with a 147,000 and leather that I would buy for $7,200. I am probably going to buy it as long as they find and fix the reason it stalled. Why do you guys think it stalled and what do you think about the price. Sorry for the big post. Thanks

Price seems okay, but if that problem doesnt get fixed then you should probably add on the extra costs of repairs. That may make the price a little less attractive...
How many times have you been to look at it? Drive it at least 2 times before you think about getting it, and you may want to consider having a mechanic do an inspection first. Good luck with everything!
