99 4runner turns over but not start

Just replaced the head gaskets and spark plugs and one fuel injector. Sparks good, fuels good, and I've checked the timing. Is there something I'm missing here?

Brother,

After all of that it is hard to say. First see if you have a CEL on. Next see if you can get it on a Modis System or something like that, not just some little hand held code reader. My gut says either you are off on timing or maybe even something as small as a crank sensor (Do you have the firing order correct?). They will really F you up some times and they are so stupid simple.

Really it is hard to say with out someone really spending some time with it. Crappy thing is that you have the truck back together so it is not easy to check the timing marks right now (Unless I'm forgetting something)

Thanks for the welcome. The firing order is good. We have been at this for some time now, the only thing we can think of is the cam shaft.... what's the CEL?

Check Eng Light.

You might be right. That is why I said get a hold of a bigger computer so you can check all that out and get the readings from the cam sensors ect. I would look at the pulse of each cam if you can.

So we might need to take it to a bigger shop, we are doing this at home and don't have a modis system. The check engine light won't even come on with the other lights when we turn the key. I just started working on cars not to long ago but the person I'm working with has been doing it for some time... we are thinking about taking it to a shop to have a pro look at it. Once we get his fixed we are going to get mine up here to replace the head gaskets. I have a 92 4runner.
