99 limited BUILD THREAD more photos than your first 3some

Well after getting so many damn good ideas and help from fellow t4r members i am going to entertain you with my build thread.. i have made many mistake while building betsy however this is for all of your own good.. so you know exactly what not to do and what not to accessorize your rig with

Lets start with her stock.. i actually miss this look a lot

Now i decided to throw on a bush grill.. i know the mixed opinions on these however it was 150 bucks with the lights.. couldnt miss on this deal so i picked it up and mounted her up.. i am going to switch to a push/light bar up front as soon as i find the right one.. any ideas??

Soon afterwards i bought the rage roof basket off amazon.. 99 bucks!!!! guys if you want a light duty rack get this one, very cheap and very convenient

after enough people started calling my truck Mickey Mouse.. due to the bunny ears.. i switch the position and i painted the well worn grill

Now i was bored today (hence the build thread) so i did the deckplate mod.. cost me 13 bucks woot woot

threw on some gasket seal

and a dusting of paint ***note this is the first layer and looks like ****e, trust me.. it eventually looked better than this

unfortunately my screw heads are not flush so when i screw the lid on there is maaaaybe a mm gap.. but if i tighten it tough enough i can close it ..

Next on the list.. THE LIFT, i was able to purchase a set of LC 7.5 wrap coils and the rear shocks for 70 bucks everything in off a fellow c-lister, so i have ordered the bilstein 5100's and toytec springs to match in the front, i plan on doing the diff drop.. what the hell right, as well as replacing some bushing and what not while im in there.

so mods to be done in the next week to month ish:

LC coil lift + 5100 adjustables and toytec springs
ISR mod
Cherry bomb vortex muffler
Double din stereo deck w/ touchscreen
Locate some new wiring for my old cobra CB and mount it up
Paint the trim black
New wheels (33" ers)
ditch the bush grill and mount a light bar

Oh right i also through on a aftermarket tow hitch and ordered the plug and play wiring harness from amazon for 30 bucks.. highly recommend that route

Oooookay so i have begun my lift install.. and man have i had fun i even managed to get a screw driver sandwiched in my struts lower bolt hole

I was also able to completely round off the nut to remove the top plate of the LC's shocks .. yayyy off to canadian tire to try out a nut splitter

Those Canadians Screwdrivers. They'll do it every time.


Btw, where are the pictures of the 3some?

Be careful with that Nutsplitter, make sure you wear some protection.



Don't forget to make a VDO while doing a Nutsplitter. Would be kind of neat to some new techniques.

Hahaha okay ya i unhooked the sway bar link up front on the other side.. much simpler, I am still unsure of this reverse bottle jack method.. i had no reason to move the upper control arm to get access. BUT the good stuff is that i got my struts to the shop and they assembled em all and they were even able to break loose the rounded nut I also rented a spring compressor from can tire (for free) so i can stop attempting new methods of dropping my axle further down to squeeze the 7.5 wraps in

I also managed to snap the upper bolt/stem on the shock which was a MAJOR relief because i was about to get the sawzall in there which considering the size of mine would be been a miracle to not slice my frame in half

Super easy to install! 99 bucks off amazon with the wind fairing then an extra 10 for the cargo net, welllll worth it. I have loaded it up with no issues, the paint is a little mickey mouse but thats easily fixed.

The deckplate was fun and easy, doesn't take long and a cool way to accessorize your t4r

Okay guys so heres an update on the lift instal:

It was my first time working with suspension soooo things went a little slower for me and it didnt help that 99% of my bolts and nuts were seized, crossthreaded or broken. So overall i replaced the rear springs with LC 7.5 wraps, the shocks with the matching LC shocks. The front coils with toytecs and the shocks with bilstein 5100 adjustables. I also replaced several bolts/nuts and one sway bar link (front). I ended up ripping the rear sway bar out and left it that way.

Putting the panhard bar back in was of my toughest feats, the eye would NOT line back up.. i dropped the frame on jackstands and jacked up the driver side of the axle then took a ratchet tie down and wrapped it around the driver side of the axle and then the passenger side frame. I had to brace myself against the car and garage wall and crank the ratchet with my foot.. eventually i banged the bolt in and got it all settled.

The truck DEFINITELY needs an alignment as i have the death wobble when hitting potholes and a decent negative camber. I think i am also getting excessive vibration from the CV angle so ill be putting my diff drop in this weekend as well as extending the aftermarket tranny cooler lines and popping back in my painted (red/black/grey???) skid plates

.... i did to put the tires back on the rear so i could jack up the front end afterwards - the jack stands started to wobble originally.. could this be why i have some pull to the left and my steering wheel is not quite centered, I am having my alignment done soon

So i got the alignment done, the shop doing it couldnt get it perfect and advised me my LFront tie rods (inner and outer) are worn. The steering wheel is still slightly off centered and they had to create a big of positive camber. I'm not sure where to go from here.. whether i get in there and do the tie rods and see if they can straighten the wheel afterwards or just leave it.. i clamped the cv boots again and it looks like with the diff drop and alignment the leakage has stopped but i still have vibration at highway speeds.. hmm
