the other day when GA was having one of her bi-polar weather days and it was freezing out, i had the heat on and noticed there was heat coming from under the steering column. so i put my hand down there to feel where it was coming from and i found a little vent under there. its like a roller that you can rotate front and back. idk if the earlier models have it but i thought it was cool

haha yea I found that as well... does anyone know how i could make my 2wd 3rd gen level out and not sit so low that is inexpensive. I am really wanting to fix this...

yeah man go to wheeler's (thats where i went) and get front 1.25 spacers and 1.5 rear. they're only 39.99 a pair. and truck will look level and slightly bigger

yes i am a fellow 2wheeler haha couldnt quite afford the 4wd in as good as condition mine is. but those spacers are for 2w i am currently running them now

Lol, yeah, I found that one too when some female passengers decided to turn the heat all the way up in my 1996 runner, and i kept getting hot air in my face! I hate that, I always have my window open. So for like 15 min I was turning every vent in the car toward them or closing it and after a few min they pointed it out to me! Ive had this 4runner since 2002 and just now found out about that heater there...

Upgrades

Yea i had a 1990 4runner and i always wished it had those head rest holders i always just stuck them between the front seats and the folded down ones.

the gas tank is 18 gallons?!

My gas gauge is a lil screwy on the truck i just got but the needle was below e and the light was on and i filled it up and it only took 14.3 gallons. So i still had another 4 gallons in there?

Yeah, I was wondering the same. I just got my 99 Limited 4x4 and when the gas light went up, I filled the tank and it only took in 13 gallons and some change.

Is there really 5 gallons left when the low fuel indicator light kicks in...

I usually run a while with my fuel light on and when my needle is just below E I can fillup with about 15-16 gallons but rarely ever more. There is a little over a gallon of unuseable fuel that won't be sucked up by the fuel pump since it doesn't sit right on the bottom.

i miss my tahoe with its 22gallon tank but i dont miss its 12mpg when gas was almost 5$

its funny how this is one of the only vehicles ive seen where the brochure shows the auto getting better milage than the stick counterpart.
