99 runner electrical question

Hi everyone, great forum here.

Got an issue with my '99 SR5. Both Factory key Fob suddenly stopped unlocking/locking doors, but rear window auto down still works. I have an aftermarket starter which can still unlock the doors ... go figure. PDL switch in car still locks/unlocks doors, so I figured reprogram remotes, but I cannot get the car to go into program mode (despite doing it a few yrs back). Fast forward to today, its a bit on the warmer side so I decide to open windows and rear window, but lo behold rear window not responding to dash switch.
I double checked window lock button is off. Window defrost doesn't turn on either. So i checked fuse and no issue there, even swapped with the other 15A fuse just in case.
As per forum here I tried to 'reset" the window with key and opened it down and all the way back up to no avail.

So to recap, power locks work, just not with OEM fobs. rear window works, just not with dash switch. Sorry this is so long winded.
As a side not my dash clock stopped displaying > 5 years ago, not sure if that is related?

Would appreciate some help if anyone got an idea.

It's just a guess, but an open or short in the wires in the harness between the liftgate and the body fits the symptoms. This happens, after 13 years of flexing back and forth.

Clock is different, they have a design fault.

Ah crap guess i will be spending some time troubleshooting the electrical
Woulda left it as is but I need that rear defrost to work come winter.

New issue

So i took my runner for some errands today and noticed both my trip mileage reset to zero. Normally this happens only when i zero it or unplug my battery. Does anyone know if the trip odometers are linked to the other electrical components causing me grief in my original post? or will this be something separate to troubleshoot/

Finally had time to fix the issue. TheDurk was correct about wires shorting. Re-soldered and wrapped in electrical tape. boy was it a PITA to get at via tailgate, not much slack in the wiring. repairing all 3 wires corrected all my issues, just find it weird that the wiring in the hatch affected my keyfobs ability to lock and unlock the doors. Also now my car beeps when locking/unlocking like it used too.

The Body ECU by the driver's knee controls the doors, but the wireless receiver and logic circuit for the keyless entry is in the Back Door ECU in the liftgate. Communication between the two goes through that harness by the liftgate hinge. So it does make sense.
