'99 SR5 Audio Install With Q-Form

I finally got my install done. I was set to install a Solo-Baric L7 sub, but my friend told me there's a Q-Form enclosure in the shop. $75 later and it's mine. Last one they had on the shelf for years. The sub and Q-Form combo is amazing. My seats vibrate, and you can't but grin like the joker.

Here's the list:

Pioneer DEH-P8500MP Head unit
Pioneer DEQ-9200 DIN DSP Audio Processor with Auto EQ
JBL GTO-7001 700-Watt Mono Subwoofer Amplifier
JBL GTO504 280-Watt 4-Channel Full-Range Amplifier

Pioneer TS-A1604C 6 1/2" component Speakers
Pioneer TS-A1304C 5-1/4" component speakers
Kicker 10" Dual 2ohm CompVR10 Subwoofer
Q-Logic Q-Forms subwoofer enclosure

4CH amp goes under the Driver's seat. Both amp cases are identical.

Sub amp under passenger seat. A thief has to remove the seats to steal these babies.

Rear tweeters assure beggers never ask for a 2nd ride.

I am jealous! I've got the wife's Mazda hooked up with 2 Pioneer Premier 12's in a huge box and a Kicker KX450 amp! My Runner feels pathetic compared to the system in her Mazda! I am feeling sound-poor lately, since all of my previous vehicles have had some kind of banging system!

Need to run active seup to put that eq at full use. Nice install, rear tweeters are kinda high, i would put it low in the door since u recline the seat, it wont cause a big block.

Good job on the setup.
That QLogic box leaves a nasty gap in the back.
Is it permanently fixed like that?

Thick double-sided foam tape then small screws,it rattles :ybrick: That's why I'm curious how Supreme fastened his since he mentioned no screws. One of these days I'll try more foam and maybe make some kind of bracket utilizing the nearby mounting bolt for the D-ring hold-down on the floor.

Honestly I liked my previous 10" bazooka tube better,but ended up blowing it up LOL. I would have never picked up the Q-Logic but Crutchfield had an open box special for $99.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The installer had used plumber's tape and refused to tell me anything else. He went all "trade secret" on me.

Riceandpho, I don't follow you with the active setup. The EQ was made for this HU, and it's always on. You have the option to bypass it completely by pressing the F1 button. Reclining actually does clear the tweeters, juuuuust barely. I put the tweeters in that location to fire directly at back seat passengers. No one ever asks for a ride twice.

DO NOT purchase these Q-Forms/Q-Logic boxes. They can't handle serious subs. The Kicker destroyed the first box once the sub was broken in. I went back to the shop and got a replacement, which was immediately destroyed. I had my friend build me a box which hits far harder using the same sub.

active meaning you have each channels on the amp to power each tweet on 1 and 2 and mid woofer on 3 and 4 , kinda hard to explain to you. but ull learn at diymobileaudio.com

Ah so those 2 together is like having the DEX-P1R but with power outs ? Sweet ! I still need to get me some amps to run my DEX-P1R again. Sold the amps with the 87 4runner but I took the deck out. But my 99 had a AVIC-U310BT in it when I bought it so I'm in no big rush to get my good deck in.

What size is the amp you have under your seat? I am looking into adding an amp to my car and want to know how big I can go under the seat. Since it would keep it out of the way.

Great thread! Going to do a Audio build in the 4Runner I'm going to pick up.

Though I heard the Qlogic box rattles, so I may look into other options.
