99 SR5 owners or past owners

I had my heart set on 99 limited, due to AWD/Multi-mode and wanting a elock.
I found a stock beautiful inside and out, well taken care of, no issues. I drive in pouring rain, ice and snow. I really would like to hear from the SR5 owners, with none of luxuries of the limited, no elock, no multimode, etc. So you ever run into issues going skiing, on the logging roads, in rain, snow, etc.? I will not be doing heavy mudding and 4 wheeling.

I understand if you want me to delete this as you are ONLY asking for people without the creature comfort to post. With that in mind, I'd like to say that I would rather have them(MM/AWD including) and not need them, than to not have them and need them or want them. Of course having them can make your resale a winning combo..... That is, if you ever plan on selling her.

Also, remember that 4wd/awd without the added safety of having the correct "TIRES" and/or tire pressure, can also be hazardous. The MM/AWD really is just to help you in any situation where black ice/slippery surface is concerned due to the open diffs/no binding. :hello:

'97 SR5 4x4 5speed with Goodyear Duratrac's.
No snow driving issues what-so-ever with most credit going to tires.

I have an SR5 and it has an e-locker. I have owned my truck for almost 2 years and havent used it yet. I tried it once in the snow and it was cool. Honestly I've only had mine in 4wd twice.

Yes, I will admit that it is a pavement princess. Too bad as it would be a great off road toy. Kinda a waste... Its a commuter, home depot runner, and utility trailer hauler. However, it looks mean doing it!

I dont know if that helps at all. Any 4runner will be fine for what you want it for. I drove an open Cherokee for a while without lockers and horrible gears (3.07's / 33's) and wheeled the hell out of it. Logging roads and snow were childs play...
