99+ steering wheel swap

has anyone ever successfully done a steering wheel swap from a 99+ into a 96-98? i am looking to replace my steering wheel because its getting old and gonna need to be resurfaced soon, and was thinking id just upgrade to the newer style while while im at it. if so what are the issues if any? is this just a direct swap over, will i have to re-pin some connections?

I don't know about the swap, but the '98s had the four-spoke wheel, too.

its because of the different connections/plug style ect? if thats the issue then oh well i dont really care about CC i dont use it 95% of the time anyways

The clock spring has a different connector on it since the airbag is different so you would need the clock spring as well.
