I know the fronts:

Front right 48131-35400 L=368mm
Front left 48131-35350 L=374mm
Rears ( same for both ) 48231-35210

Color Codes:
Fronts: Blue/Pink(left) & Blue/Yellow (right)
Rears: Green/Red

Does Left mean Driver's side and Right

Bumping an old thread, but according to the Lift Guide the rear tall springs have a color code of yellow/red (not green/red as per the above post):

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/66976-3rd-gen-4runner-lift-information-faq-s.html

Can someone confirm which is right? Do all 1999 4Runners have the tall springs?

The color is really somewhere in between green and yellow. I've seen it listed both ways. I copied the above from somewhere else. Looking at mine, I really have no idea if it is more green than yellow.

There are '99's with shorter springs. All that came from the factory with 15" wheels have the shorter springs. Most, if not all, that were born with 16" wheels came with the tall springs.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize 15" rims were an option for the 1999 models. Im guessing that would have been for the smaller 4 cyl engine which wasn't as common.

The reason why I ask is because I have an opportunity to get some coil springs from a 99 Limited and they have the yellow/red color code. I'm just wondering if it would be worthwhile to swap these with the original coils on my 1998 and if there would be a difference?

I just removed front and rear shocks/springs from my 99 4Runner. Bought this a year ago and the previous owner said the suspension was fairly new.

I see the front coils have pink/blue and yellow/blue markings. For the rear coils, I can’t find any markings.

Does that mean my rear coils aren’t the 99 tall coils?

If there is no paint splootch on the rears it is likely they are moog replacement or some other aftermarket spring. The 99 tall rears sag out and may have been replaced. The fronts don't seem to degrade.

Out of curiosity, why have you pulled it all out? And how did the KYB Gas-adjusts ride?

Went with the 3” Toytec Ultimate Lift Kit. The KYB shocks was good on-road. Only drove it for about 1k miles before I swapped them out, but overall they weren’t bad. The ride was a little on the stiffer side but not much.
