99 tall springs question

Hi all, been lurking here since I bought my 99 4Runner Highlander a couple of months ago. These forums are great, I've definitely been learning a ton.

From reading this forum, I understand that my Runner has the "tall springs" which appear to be unique to this year/model. It seems that these springs are 1" taller than others, which I assume means that it sits about an inch higher. My question is this: if I want to swap them out for 2.5" OME springs (for example), will I actually end up 2.5" higher, or 1.5"?

I'm nearly done all the boring maintenance stuff (LBJs, CVs, TREs, tires, plugs, fluids, etc), so I'm ready to start with some fun mods! I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting.

Welcome and congrats. To answer you're question, you'll be 1.5" higher than you're currentbsprings were brand new. Depending on what king of shape they are currently in, you may gain more. ( meaning they might be sagging )

Thanks PitbullRescuer! You're right, with a 150k miles, it is probably sagging a bit, although it is not obvious. At least you have given me an idea of what my starting point is, and new springs/shocks all around are in order anyway.

I gained about 2" when I replaced my shot to sh*t stock springs with a set of '99 talls.

Take some measurement - hub to fender are the most accurate. I have 99 talls with unknown miles and they still provide good height.

Same here, I put them on stock shocks that were on there when I got it last year.
As measured from the garage floor with 33s and a 1" BL 6 months ago - LF 37-7/8; RF 38; LR 38; RR 38-1/2

Can you tell me how you make your measurement? Floor to bottom of body fender, or to the inside of the wheel well?
