Hey thanks man for the pics of the rad! I didn't mean for it to sound like those metal tabs were a problem, I was just saying that none of the pics I saw on the internet had those. Just wanted to make sure partsgeek didn't send me some cheapo version or something, because I've read many reviews where they send the wrong part out, and I got a little worried when the pics didn't match up. The one you got is exactly like mine so all is good! $100 for a denso radiator can't be beat...especially since the koyo ones went way up in price over the last year and are now over $170.
Dude that's awesome you're a huge A's fan...I am as well!! I was born in San Leandro and grew up in Castro Valley. Both my parents used to work for the A's (it's where they met actually) and my Dad even has a world series ring when they won it all in 89. It's pretty cool. I was born in 86, so I was super little during their heyday when they went to 3 straight world series from 88-90. They should have won all 3 of those, they had an AMAZING team with rickey henderson, eckersley, and as you mentioned earlier the bash bros. They're still good today because Billy Beane is the man and creates such good teams with such little money. My Dad now works for the Colorado Rockies so we moved to Denver and I'm still out here. That's cool about Lowrie, he's a good little player. Did you actually play against him? He probably went 5-5 almost every game back in high school.
Well sorry to put like my whole life story in your build thread, haha but I love when I find another big A's fan! Let's hope for another great season and if you're ever in Denver shoot me a PM!

Yikes. Get that Transmission Cooler on order?
I feel like these Runner really work when there is a load on them... more so than my Jeep. I just make sure to get my momentum before heading up a incline and have it.

Ah, I see. Ideally they mounts would be tack mounted/non adjustable, but once a bolt goes through it should be a-okay. No kidding... Denso makes good stuff so I am confident with my purchase.
That's neat man... Crawlorado is not a bad gig either! I plan on being in the Bay Area this summer for a relatives wedding, so without a doubt I will do everything in my power to get to a game as long as they are home. Hell, if not, I may resort to catching a game across the Bay @ AT&T Park. Yeah Lowrie won't jump off the charts at ya, but he is scrappy and gets the job done... fits perfect into Billy Beane's system! Unfortunately I did not get a chance to play against Lowrie. He was about 4 years ahead of me, but I sure do remember all the buzz he garnered while playing ball locally.
No worries man, I absolutely talking ball when/if given the chance... and if clutters my thead, so be it
. One of these days i'll have to make it east to the Rockies, but if I am, i'll make sure to make contact. Likewise, if ever in Oregon.

The Runner was dropped off yesterday to the gentlemen at Toy Only Swaps (Creswell, Oregon). I heard of this place word-of-mouth, through some items I purchased off a Craigslist from a man in Veneta, OR. Boy, has he steered me in the right direction. I've been working with Cliff and the communication line has been nothing but stellar. I rather support local businesses, than the stealerships. These guys seem to share a similar interest/passion for Toyota vehicles, and with a great track record for their work, this was a no-brainer to whom I would let service my 4Runner. I stopped by to further drop off some parts and took a stroll around. I'll have a follow-up, as well as what was serviced, in the coming days when the Runner is back in my passion.

Thanks for the heads up. I've viewed the meetup thread a few times. Once time and place are set, I might be able to attend. I've got a 3 year old and a 6 month old, so committing a full day is tough to do. I would love to meet up with the local T4R crew and scope everyone's rigs.

Ok, so the 4Runner has been back in my possession for the last few days. A minor hiccup occurred, but they was more do with a faulty part more so than the labor being performed. Toy Only Swaps was a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, as well as reference them.
List of items performed: Timing Belt & Water Pump, misc. seals and drive belts associated with that job. Valve Cover gasket, Plenum Gasket, Spark Plugs, Wires, and a Denso Radiator. Fresh Toyota RED coolant, as well. All parts used are OEM Toyota for peace of mind, as well as... well it's Toyota quality! I initially picked the Runner up on a Thursday, and upon starting the vehicle Friday morning, I was greeted with this:
Back to Creswell it went. After a day or so, I received a call from Cliff letting me know the issue had been resolved and it was ready to be picked up. It turns out that the lower radiator inlet pipe, where it mates up with the Thermostat housing, had developed some corrosion and had some scoring, therefore causing the leak. Cliff went ahead replaced it, and now I am leak free for the past 4 days!

With a new Denso Radiator in, I felt it was appropriate to add a Transmission Cooler. I want to avoid the "Pink Milkshake", so in order to do so, more preventative maintenance was in order. With the Radiator bypassed, the Transmission send and return lines will now run directly to the Transmission Cooler.
B&M 70264:
I must note that I went ahead and got '10 of 3/8" hose (as seen on the left) to use for the Transmission Cooler. This will help with better flow, cooling, as well as performance.

My temps per ScanGaugeII: ATF (Transmission Temp.): 140-145 HWY. FWT (Engine Temp.): 188-191 HWY.

I'll grab some pictures for you.
Essentially mounted it on the drivers side, ran the 3/8" line through a hole near headlight, back over to the passenger side, and back towards the rear of the vehicle were the transmission send and return lines appeared.

Good choice of vehicle. Gas mileage bites, but that's not the point of having a T4R now is it. I have the same year and model with the rear diff, etc. Only difference is I have 17" alloys with BFG tires - adds a nice touch to the profile. I need to add the front spoiler though, which is a nice touch and reduces the dings. I also plan on a new brush bumper and lift.
Wondering if you've noticed the all wheel drive lights flashing on the dash occasionally. It basically comes on at times, flashes the four greens and the center orange for a while and goes away. Doesn't actually engage anything, just comes and goes. Likely a switch issue.

No worries. This forum, as well as others, have done so much for me, so if anyone is seeking pictures/answer for some installation, interiors, suspension, maintenance, etc. Whatever it need be, I am more than willing to provide. This a great community and I am happy to be apart of it.
The reason I went with installing on the Drivers Side is that there is less clutter, and since the 70264 is bigger than the 70268, it just made more sense.

Awesome job on the cooler. I was planning on the same cooler, and was wondering how I should mount it. I know now! Awesome 4Runner btw.
