When you press the air recirculation button it shut off bringing outside air in and recirculates the inside air.

where does it go in ? What vents pull the inside air in to be recycled ?

I'll take a shot in the dark and say its the vents near the windshield used for defrost. Otherwise I would say the floor vents. You could spray some of that dust used for vacuum leaks under the hood if you wanted to, but I can't stand it when my baby gets dirty on the inside

I can't imagine it's anywhere near the windshield unless Toyota's engineers are dumb -- hottest part of the car in the sun.

I'd hazard a guess that it's somewhere at floor level, possibly under the front seats but most likely the passenger-side front foot well, which is where the cabin air filter is located.

:iagree: I would guess it's near the cabin filter which is probably where the fan/blower is housed as well.

I pulled the dash apart when the mechanical link on my uncle's Camry came loose for the recirculate/fresh-air disabling functionality. I found there's a movable flap that opens and closes off what looks almost like a Y duct, with one port for outside air and another for inside (recirculate).
