A/C very cold on lowest setting but hot at 70 degrees

Hey guys,

Got a weird issue that I noticed. My a/c is very cold when it's on the lowest setting but if I bump up the temperature even slightly to 66-70 degrees, the a/c blows hot air...

I am at a loss to what the issue could be?

Get the factory service manual and look at the Problem Symptoms table in the heating air conditioning section. Could be one of eleven different issues.

I would check the blend doors or the coolant actuator on the heater core firewall.

I would start from checking connection to the temp climate control sensor that located in the dash just below the ignition switch (driver’s knee area); this is very common area of the described problem especially if you recently had your dash apart for radio install or any other reasons.

THANK YOU!! This fixed it. As soon as I pulled out the section, I noticed that the sensor was disconnected. When I reconnected it and tried it out, it worked perfectly.
