A couple fender flare questions w/ pics (SEARCHED)

I have a couple questions about fender flares, and yes I did search but couldn't find the answers i was looking for.

My T4R has these flares:

But I would love to have these:

From what I have read, these are not interchangeable as the silver flares (on the first pic) hole cut outs do not line up for other flares. Is this correct?

What flares are on the white truck? Are those OEM SR5? Limited? There are so many types!

what you have on your 4runner is just trim and not a flare. i have the same thing on my 4runner. the flares on the white one are the smaller SR5 flares. the limited models have the wider flares that are painted to match the body. I'm not really positive about them being interchangeable but my guess would be that they should be able to be swapped as long as they are within the same year range.

Those look pretty much like the Limited flares.

Those look pretty much like the Limited flares.

yeah they do, i'd like to see them in person. but i really like the ones that look kinda like the sr5 flares beefed up with rivits on the sides.

The SR5 flares mount to the same spots the fender lining does in the front. You can see these spots right along the edge if you look from the underside.

In the back, if your body has little "square" holes on the underside of the fender edge you can attatch the SR5 flares too. That might be how your chrome trim is held on in the back already, IDK. The SR5 flares clip onto the door too, so there is no drilling for that part.

If you can't locate SR5 flares their are some aftermarket ones that are pretty nice too as already mentioned.

yea should be 7mm bolts holding them on if i remember correctly

Bushwacker does make a set similar to the skinny black ones but the wider ones are still thinner than the OEM Limited version and you can leave them unpainted. I had a set on my '97 which I was replacing the chrome trim version and they fit with no issues and looked pretty good.
