a couple of notes

I talked to the Carmax guy today and he said that the rest of the 2003 models:

• 17" rims are standard on SR5
• Roof Rack is standard on SR5

it was my second time test driving a 4runner and he gave me a load of s__t about people taking too many test drives and "making a living" at test driving. I guess that I will need to go elsewhere to get a more thorough test drive, but Carmax's $27,248 SR5 with 17" rims sounds like a great deal.

That's neat, I didn't know Car Max sold new Toyota's. I saw one with that exact price of $27,248. (Well, there are actually 5 at that price.)

As far as the rest of the 2003 models having 17" and roof rack, he may know for his dealership since the 2003 models are no longer made. He probably knows what he has ordered. As far as being standard now on 2003, I have no idea. It looks like 17" wheels on the 2004 SR5's are now standard. The 2004's will be out mid-September.
