A different kind of noise

Disclaimer: I searched the forum and couldn't find the droid I was looking for. Clicks, clanks, clunks, and other things that go bump in the night are well represented, but not this.

Shortly after I installed my T13s and 10mm spacer on the driver's side, I began hearing a 'pang' type sound when coming to a moderate to hard stop as the nose goes down a bit and the rear comes up. It sounds like a spring shifted and gave out a 'pang' on the way (like an unsprung spring), but when I go under and look, everything is seated as advertised. The lower coils are against their respective stops and the tops are centered where they're supposed to be.

The only thing I can think of is that the lower end of one of the rear coils is sliding up/down a bit on the coil mount under braking, but that would be a first. I had the T12s on my 4th gen and never heard such a sound.

Any thoughts?

There is a top and bottom to the coil. Do you have the coil end tucked into the pocket of the spring seat (bottom)?

Yes, that's one of the first things I looked at.

I think I'll remove the spacer this weekend to rule out any dissimilar spring loads that might be causing a loosening passenger side spring.
