Traded in my rusty 94 ford explorer that i had since high school for a 2002 4runner a few weeks ago, was surprised I got 500$ for it. The 4runner is great so far, it was $10.6k with 113k miles and no repair history other than the usual brake pads, lightbulbs etc. It's taller and narrower than my explorer was and gets significantly better gas mileage so thats nice. It made the trip from virginia to tampa no problem. I guess the main reason I'm here is to learn more about optimizing gas mileage and trying to get it last to 300-400k.

Looks like a great buy and a nice change from the old explorer! I'm sure you'll get many, many more miles and years out of her. Dang, that was a long drive to get her from! Sure it was worth it. ;-)

Yeah it was quite a trip, had to drive 12 hours up to virginia in the explorer, buy a car the next day, and then drive another 12 hours back down to tampa. Also +rep to who ever notices what is broken on my 4runner first.

The power antenna is broken. It also appears that you're missing a passenger side fog light or delete plate in the front bumper.

Looks nice. Not a common color either.

yep the antenna won't retract, i guess that will be my first modification. it's not a big issue since it still gets a signal, just need to stay out of certain car washes. Hadn't noticed the front bumper issue, i'll have to take a look at that too.
