A New version of "Entune" is available!

Read through this thread twice. As I understand, there is a new Entune OS update V5.1 separate to the Entune App Update. I completed the app update in October via IPhone. My system shows last Sys Update 10/14. I have an early model 14 T4R Trail. It will not accept update via Flash Drive. So Contact dealer to coordinate and have them complete Sys update. Receive very confused responses and clearly did not understand difference between App and Sys updates. Told they would check on this.....Call Toyota 800 line and get someone who recites exactly what is read on computer screen.

Did get a case number.....but what is bottom line here? Do the 14 and new models need the dealership to complete OS update?

Hi Hadelson,

I did the 5.0 update using a 2gb F-drive but my truck is a 2012 model with an HD)) nav. It seems that you'll need to take it in for dealer service to load the latest O.S. update,

Here's a question....

A well-behaved Entune system will allow you to have your texts read to you by the system through the radio.

It works fine on my iPad Mini, but not on my iPhone 5c.

This normally wouldn't be a PITA, except that when BOTH devices are attached to the system (one as the phone, the other as the music player), it always picks the phone for BOTH each time I restart the vehicle.

So, is there any way to either:

a) get Entune to read me my texts from my phone, or:

B) get Entune to connect my phone as a phone only, and my iPad as my music player, automatically?

a) For Entune to read texts to you, from your iPhone navigate to: Settings > BlueTooth. Select the "i" icon next to "Toyota 4Runner". Then verify "Show notifications" is enabled. Your 4Runner will then read your texts to you.

b) You should be able to set your phone as a phone and the iPad as a music player. (I'm not near my truck right now so I can't remember the screen, but I believe I did it by clicking "source" in the top right of one of the music screens... Anyway. It remembers your setup. The only drawback I've found is that if your iPad, for example, isn't with you on your next trip the entune will default back to your iPhone as media player and it will remember that as your setting for the next trip... I can look later when in my truck if you need more detail.

Thanks for this. Just got my 4Runner on Friday and was trying to figure this out.

Got that checked. No dice. It will pop up on my screen, but the only option I have is to ignore. "Read" is greyed out.

Also, while my radio is set as "4Runner", as soon as I have Entune running on my phone, the connection becomes "CarAccessorySystem"...

Ahhhhh..... Yes. That makes sense, I wondered why it would do it sometimes and not others. Damn, it's annoying...

Toyota Camry 2015

Actually I'm rookie here, so It would be grate if you help me ,
I've Camry 2015(hybrid), as you can see in the attached, it's my system version,

1) what's the last version of entune right now?

2)is there any chance that I can update that by myself from usb port ? if yes would you please give me the latest version of that ?

3)what's the different between gracenote and entune ? and which is better ?

4)how we can play files like mp4 or some videos on screen , is it possible ?

5)is there anyway to enable the maps ? because it won't work for me now

2015 Toyota 4Runner Limited here. I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and the phone WILL NOT for whatever reason, pull up Pandora through Entune. Tilting me pretty hard. If anyone can help me figure this out, I've tried restarting my head unit, reinstalling Entune twice.

I'm lost... No clue.

Mine did the same thing. You need to make sure you are logged into pandora via entune. When you get in the car. Open the entune app then click disconnect, you will now have additional options. Go to pandora and log in. reconnect your phone after this

I have the same problem--I can "ignore", but I cannot "read".

Any thoughts from the hive?

I have "show notifications" checked on my phone.

New Entune Upgrade

Hello All,
I noticed last night that Toyota had put out a new upgrade for the Entune head unit. I downloaded it lastnight and it was simply a zip file of an iso image. I extracted it to a USB that I formatted to FAT32 and renamed 16A (the upgrade name). When I insert it in my truck, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Ok, I am a geek ... not a gearhead so I might be able to help. What specifically did you rename?

I always fear updates as they can be positive, or remove features/functions and be a negative.

I can't seem to correlate this with the 4Runner head units... any links that tie them together?
