Can you elaborate on this? specifically what wires were cut from the corner lights and what wires were connected together? Can you post any pictures of the wires?

If you disconnected the "harness" side wire and wired the lights directly to and IGN power source did you lose your turn signal/blinker functionality?

I think the blinkers operate the lights below in the bumper, not the corner lights they are just parking lights.

Yes I clipped the power feed from the harness and added IGN power to it...but you have to clip the wire or you'll backfeed power to the other lights
