A/T Tire Selction Guide

Hey all, I feel like I've been driving myself crazy lately with tire research. Ive been trying to decide for the past few w elks what tires to put on my 3rd gen and what tires I should get for the LX. I've found it somewhat complicated and cumbersome to compare different tires across different vendors, reviews, and trying to find the best fit for my intended applications.

I found this thread last night while searching like always. It is a Jeep forum, but I found it a pretty solid resource for the most common A/T tires we run across. It definitely helped cement my decisions. Thought I'd share.

Not your average "Who makes the best AT?" thread. This is an above average one! - JeepForum.com

I prefer the Firestone Dueler A/T Revo 2. I have taken them everywhere, snow, ice, mud, dirt, highway, minor rock crawling and they have been great.

Tires are a peculiar subject. Many people really agonize over the decision.

Part of the problem is people imagine a much bigger difference between competing tires than really exists.

Consequently, perhaps the best info most people can get is anything that helps them pull the trigger.

On the other hand, if suitability to application is actually desired, I don't think any process outperforms compiling a small group of tires based on basic parameters and then purchasing based on some combination of price, availability, and convenience.

Currently, the Tire Rack surveys report the BFG AT KO2 as significantly more quiet than Revo 2. Worse than useless. A Monkey throwing darts would arrange the rankings better.
