Since the pics have had a full stainless exhaust fabricated and fitted, from the turbo back:

Had it so it's no noisier inside but you can hear the turbo do it's thing outside. Yes, the truck is quicker too

Also switched tyres (tYres ) to Vredestein Quatrac 3 SUVs which have made the ride a lot smoother at speeds above 80 mph and also don't skid in the wet like them Grabber AT2s.

Powered JBL bass tube in the rear.

I agree about the carpets, they are straight out of my dad's house in the 70s but they are well made and I can't find anything better - the generic ones look cheap and the 4Runner ones are all cut for LHD

Mechanically nothing has gone wrong bar the rear heater pipes corroding (replaced with copper - fix and forget) and the eleccy aerial in the front wing went. Replaced with a better new one (german!) from a Jag off ebay.

I've had a lot faster cars but everyone likes this and it carries a whole bunch.

I will surrender the keys when they are prised from my cold dead hands!

How does the power rear under mirror work?

The mirror section slides down and gives you a convex mirror that shows you the back bumper (rear fender) and the about-6"-of-space behind it - this allows you back right up to the vehicle behind without touching.

It's a bit of a moot point with the spare wheel being there but I've been driving since 1986 so you get used to checking your own car's reflection in the surrounding vehicles or shop windows.

Or get the Mrs to get out and indicate the distance to you in the rear-view using her hands to show how much space is behind you, like the opposite of a fisherman's tale
