a340h no forward(drive) gears

Any thoughts on how or why? Trans has acted up for years but always got me to where I needed to go. Parked it ~2years ago due to leaving for the Army and the lack of being able to drive it in drive.....

Well its nice out now and I want to use my 4runner again.

Plans in next few Weeks:
drain and fill Trans
Drain and fill both diffs
Drain and fill transfer case
Purchase new solenoids for transmission(if new/ full fluid doesnt help )
Install new Trans filter and pan gasket
Attempt to install valve cover gaskets if time allows

I have a spare Trans in the garage but it was a pain to pull it from the other truck(ask iroke) he helped lol and I honestly dont know if its any better than the one I have. But I have it if needed. The truck is preety much original other than basic maintenance pieces having to be replaced(no swaps aftermarket upgrades ect....)and I want to make sure the original Trans is completly done for.

Any codes on the dash? AT or brake lights flashing?

Only code I got a few years ago was for the o2 sensor, but my check engine light is always on, so maybe there's other codes now also.
Ill check this week again, didnt even think to check.

Is it possible to completely rebuild the extra tranny then switch them out. It may be a pain to switch, but if you are putting in one that you know is good then I think it would be worth it.

im planning on rebuilding the original once I swap it out....something tells me om gonna have to swap. And it will always be there as a spare for next time lol
