So I just recently bought a 91 4runner v6 4x4 automatic. I test drove it before I bought it and it ran fine. I drove it to the gas station and ran fine no slippin no nothing. Then I drove it home about 30 miles with again no problems. I let it sit for about a few hours then I went to leave and it wouldn't go into gear.. It would just rev up and won't go anywhere
So I replaced the filter gaskets and fluid.. Didn't make any difference. So I jacked it up and put it in drive and let it run with the tires spinning in the air for about 10 to 15 mins. After about 10 mins it started running fine. Took it around the block and it felt strong. No slipping nothing. So I parked it. Woke up the next morning and boom it wouldn't move. Goes into gear but doesn't have enough power to move until it gets warm.
Can anyone help? Is it the torque converter bad or could it be the solenoids? Or can I just be screwed and have to replace it?
