About to pull the trigger on a 03 Sport...

I am demoing a 2003 Sport V8 4x2 with leather, sunroof, and Borla exhaust. It has 90k and of course I have a few questions.

1) Right now we are at 12,800 on price. I think that I can get him to 12,500 but he has also agreed to perform the 90k maintenance, fix any scratches/dents, replace the center console, and do a tire rotation/alignment. Think that's a good value? (I've already checked some of the things to look for on this model that was suggested in another thread.)

2) I noticed only once that the seatbelt light was flashing the entire time during a 10 minute trip to the grocery store. I was buckled in and there was no one else in the car and nothing in the seats that would trip the sensor. On the return ride home, it remained off. Any ideas on what that would be?

Sounds relatively good to me. You said there was nothing on the seat, I'm pretty sure it's a weight sensor. Even a small amount of weight or your wife's purse could cause it to trigger the seatbelt light. Otherwise, it may be a faulty sensor...?

Well another trip and it hasn't happened. There were two sheets of paper on the seat, the paperwork from the dealer. Who knows, I'll keep my eye on it.

I think that's a pretty fair price if everything is legit.

I paid more than that up here in WA for my 2003 with more miles on it at the time, and slightly less features than you're getting. 90k is hardly even broken in for a 4th Gen 4Runner, honestly.

Considering it's a sport that's got leather, moon roof, and an exhaust - all nice features to have, that's really not that bad of a price. Of course lower is always better, but I think 12,500-12,800 is fair with the 90k maint and all that factored in as well.

As long as the truck comes back clean upon inspection, I'd say that's fair for such low miles on a 2003.

That seems fair, you might be able to work him down a bit. Market matters though.

I paid 12.4 for a 2004 v8 Sport Edition 4x4 last July. It had more miles though. 110k to your 90k. So, less miles.

Sounds like you are doing good. Getting them to do the 90k, which includes the timing is a good deal.

One owner, Toyota serviced vehicle from Boston never towed or 4 wheeled xcept to get out of driveway. Forum members said do not worry about the high mileage so I went for it. I would try and get him down to 12 and then settle for 12,250.

I'll check that out. I am going to give it another look today after I talk to him. I am almost at the point on an even trade for my 08 Camry that's paid off.

Why don't you get it inspected at Toyota stealership?

Sport edition with leather interior???? I was under impression that all sport edition come with cloth unless someone made it out to look like sport edition...idk for sure...

I bought pristine condition 04 V8 4x4 Sport Edition at 90k miles last summer for $14k here in CA so you're getting a good deal buddy!
