ABS Code C1234 with VSC TRAC/VSC OFF lights on

NO other codes. No CEL or ABS light. Do I replace the Yaw Rate Sensor OR the Skid Control ECU like another member did? Or neither and do something else?
P.S. I've tried the ZPC calibration several times to no luck.

I would see what you can get cheaper? If you can get a Yaw Rate Sensor for cheap I'd try that first since it's less expensive and labor intensive compared to replacing the master cylinder assembly.

Did you ever take the center console out and inspect the yaw rate sensor? It's located just under the center console around the cup holders/shifter area so it's possible someone might have spilled liquid and it got buggered (you'd be surprised how often I see that when I am taking an interior apart).

I can get a used YRS for $85 on eBay. Master cylinder? What about the skid control ECU? Again, I can get one used on eBay for about the same price as a YRS. No I haven't disassembled anything yet. I do know it has had the cracked dash replaced. They may have simply not connected it (YRS) back or correctly. I also noticed the 110v outlet inside the center console doesn't work.

Forgot on the '03~'04 (yours is an '03 if I remember right?) that they have a separate Skid Control ECU behind the main fuse block on the driver's side, the later models have it all baked into the module on the Master Cylinder Assembly.

How much is one of those?

Have you replaced your gas cap with a new one? I have a 2004 that has had the VSC Traction control and check engine light come twice over the years. A new gas cap fixed the problem

About $81.00.[/QUOTE]

Up to you honestly, it's sorta a crapshoot based on what you told me before. I'd say try the skid control ECU (since it seemed to help another member before) and see what happens? Worst case you'll need to replace the Yaw Rate Sensor also. It's a gamble unfortunately as even the FSM gets to a point where it's like "swap in known good Skid Control ECU, if that doesn't work swap in a known good Yaw Rate Sensor." :(

I encourage you to read this thread:

It will help explain why the original poster's issue is not related to a gas cap and to better understand what an MIL means.

The issue is the C1234 DTC which has nothing to do with the gas cap or EVAP systems.

When you mention "main fuse block" are you referring to the interior lower left hand side or exterior under the hood?

The interior one under the driver's side portion of the dash, not the under-hood fuse block.

Is it POSSIBLE the VSC/TRAC has been disabled by a previous owner?

It's possible, but the only way to "disable" it is to slice up a sensor harness to trigger a DTC. It'd be really weird of someone to do that by cutting up the Yaw Rate Sensor when there's easier things to get to.

HOTDIGGITY DOG! Replaced the Yaw Rate Sensor and VSC TRAC/VSC OFF lights went off! Drove about 10 miles and still no lights!

I bought a used YRS and used skid control ECU at the same time. That means I have a used skid control ECU for sale now.
