I know this thread is old, but I myself would never dream of disabling it. It is a valuable safety feature. Besides, if you've ever locked up the brakes going 60 MPH and ruined a set of rear tires, it sucks. I like the ability to stop quicker and straighter, on all road surfaces. I can think of one offroad trail, Red Cone in Colorado, where if you disabled it you would literally be taking your life into your own hands. It is a VERY steep descent on lose dirt. I'm told at least one person per year locks up the brakes, his rear end passes him, and he plummets 4000 feet end over end to his death. As a former automotive and aircraft mechanic, I'm here to tell you it's a good system that works.
