Abs traction light on after pumping back up tires

This has happened twice

I drop pressure down to 28-30 for wheeling. When we are done I go and pump back up to 36 and when I drive off the light comes on. I turn off the car and restart and it's off. Once I move it's back on. I check the tire pressure and try to even it all out. Restart and it stays off.

Same thing the 2nd time after wheeling. I don't believe the abs system is that smart to notice a 1 or 2 lb difference in air. But that does seem like the solution

Tpms only senses low pressure and is a system on its own from what I know.

Nope. might be unrelated to your tire pressure. I've dropped my tires to 20lbs a few times, TPMS light comes up, fill back tires and the light goes off. No ABS/Traction control light issues.

Some members have encountered ABS issues after lifting or wheeling that was caused by ABS sensor wire damage. Apparently they are rather delicate and won't take much abuse. From what I've read here they are not hard to change and relatively inexpensive. Perhaps you have an intermittent wire causing the problem.

Interesting. I have have 1000 miles on the car. Gone wheeling twice and both times it comes on. With a few restarts it turns on. maybe ill trigger it and bring it to the dealer.
