ac help needed asap

So i had some squealing going on. took it to a friend and got the belts removed found out it is coming from the lowest belt. Which i believe is to the ac compressor. is that correct? is it safe to run without this belt until i can get it fixed? Please give me some direction. thanks.

Yup, just yank it out. You might find that things run better without it anyway.

Take the belt off...if it still squeaks then its not the AC...u can run it without the AC belt you just wont have cold air
