AC low mode not working

Any idea how to diagnose and fix when only one mode on the AC fan speed doesn't work. I usually use low all the time and now it doesn't work. The next option up is irritating after a while being on that high.

Probably the blower fan speed control switch. The pins inside the switch usually burns out.

You have to remove the center bezel by removing the AC switch (simply lifts off) and then remove the 4 tabs on the 4 levers (thinking you have the 96-98 model) and the face plate and then take the bolts off and slowly lift the center bezel. You can see the control unit and the fan controller will be attached to the bottom of it.

Sub'd. Mine doesn't actually blow any real air until I hit the second click.

i have a 2002, but yes it's the manual knobs.

So this is a part I need to replace, not a fix myself?

Don't go too fast. It could also be the last stage of the blower resistor is burnt out. That is located on the side of the blower housing. Test that switch before you replace it. If good check the resistor. Or vice versa.

If both are good, you have a wiring issue. Rare, but it happens.

It's probably the resistor. That was my problem. $20 and you're good to go.

First time looking at a ceramic coated resistor pack cracked open. The older models without ceramic covering usually blow out due to heat build up close to the melting point and vibrations.
How is the fan? the ceramic block is cooled by the air flow blown by the fan.

fan blows strong and it gets cold good enough. I don't use really cold air often.

It was cracked in there too, not from me dropping it. I do drive on some rough roads when I'm hunting, lots of rocky stuff. Maybe that's how it cracked.

Forgot to update this today. New resistor in and low mode works again. Problem solved and $21.28 later I'm happy.

Not at all. Honestly, I would like to see a video. I don't typically wrench on my T4R's, unless it is super easy- like removing my running boards.
