AC vent levers

Both the left & right vents will only go up & down; not left or right. I'm not talking about the Temp, Hi/Lo or A/C knobs.
Any suggestions on how to unstick them, before I go force it & break it. Only thing I can think of, is something sticky go spilled on them. But then it shouldn't go up or down either.

If you break the levers, you have to buy a whole new vent; the levers are not sold separately.

The vents are easy to remove; they just pop out. Take them out and you should be able to figure out what the problem is when you can see the back side.

I've googled & found a ton of trim tools. What is a good set? or at least the cheap ones to stay away from.

Whatever your local auto parts store has should be fine. Just make sure they are plastic or coated so that they don’t scratch up the interior.

I got a pretty good deal on OTC 6642 back in 2014 and use the crap out of them. You definitely don't need to spend $40 on them, like meltdown said, any will be fine. I would add as long as they are flexible/softer material and not brittle.
