Did some more testing... It does in fact happen when I'm in neutral, and if I do a brake stand. Starting to think it's engine/engine mount related.

I don't think it will cause any real damage... I guess I'll have them look at it with my first oil change 8k from now.

Did you ever find a resolution on this? My 14 limited has some vibrations cruising around 50mph... has done it since I purchased in August ... just curious thanks!!

currently searching this issue in the forum. i'm undergoing the same issue, at first i thought it was my duratracts, so i replaced those which got rid of some of the vibrations but still there noticeable from 60-80mph. i will be taking my vehicle to toyota tomorrow to get inspected regarding the issue. will update.

Our 2014 has done this in the cold, I never thought it was the tires. It is a light vibration during the 3 to 4 shift.

Just a thought ... I fought with the exact same issue for 3 months and no one could tell me what was wrong until I noticed I had a RIDICULOUS amount of wheel weight on the inside of one of my wheels. Long story short: I had a warped wheel and $125 and a new wheel later she drives brand new again ...

2014 800 miles TE

When using moderate throttle around 2-4k rpm theres a steady vibration on the steering wheel.
It's fairly heavy if you touch the top of the wheel.


Searching says this has been due to worn out tires, brakes or axles. But at 800 miles...

Before i bring it in to have the service dept booger up my truck... Is this normal?

I assume you mean you feel engine feedback and not that the wheel is shimmying(sp?)

If that is the case then its normal. I had the issue with my Previous TRD Tacoma and it drove me nuts. I test drove 6 others of the exact same model and they all did it to some degree or another. My New TR4 does it a little as well. Pretty common complaint in Toyotas

Yeah. My 07 tundra doesn't do it at all. Obvioulsy a differnt vehicle top to bototm, but still


The tech couldnt' replicate. But the service writer wrote it up as 'vibration at idle.'
Then my wife had a baby, so I havent' taken it back again yet.

If anyone was curious how this turned out - it didn't. I can't get the dealer to acknowledge the issue.

I even specified what road, what RPM (steep hill) where the vibration in the wheel is pretty severe and they still won't acknowledge it.

So, I guess I'll just have to live with it and hope it isn't something that's going to affect the longevity of the vehicle. I have the 8yr/100k, so.

Just fixed similar issue on my '05 Sequoia. Same/similar symptoms. Only happened at freeway speeds, and only during acceleration, coasting no issue.

Ended up being a failing U-Joint on the rear driveshaft. When taken apart, the needle bearings where shot. Replaced the joint, lubed all the drivetrain zerks and it was good as new
