Yesterday morning my 2005 4Runner wouldn't start--sounded like a dead battery, so I picked up a new battery and replaced it. Started it up, but didn't drive it.
Today I needed to run errands, but had lots of trouble starting the engine--once it started the CEL and VSC TRAC lights are on, and the accelerator is disabled--I can only idle forward and reverse. I've read a couple of threads, but didn't think my problem was the same as those posted because nobody mentioned no acceleration. Really seemed like a plugged catalytic converter, which happened to me decades ago.
I'm going to need to have it towed tomorrow (great way to start a Monday)--does anyone have any advice before I take it to a dealer? I'm wondering if I caused any problems when I changed the battery?
