Acceptable mileage for a new 4runner?

I think unless you order one, then you may get one with up to 100 miles on it. Mine was delivered to a dealer that was 60 miles away from the one I purchased it at. But I wanted a grey one vs silver - which is all they had at the time.
They sent a driver there, drove it to my dealer then cleaned it up for my pick up. Given the miles I'm going to put on it and the fact that they honor my mileage from when I started putting it on, then I could care less.
A new vehicle is "new" when I buy it and it has only a few miles on it. What am I supposed to drive when trying out new trucks?

Mine had only 3 miles on when I test drove it. There is always some miles on odometer, getting off assembly line onto train, off the train into boat, off the boat to the trucks etc.... But, I would not get anything with more than 20 miles on. Usualy that means some one drove it around for a day or two...

Most vehicles come into stock with a few miles already on them, then the tech's take them for a spin when they do the PDI, so 13 miles is one little test drive at most. Lots of new vehicles have many more miles by the time they are delivered.....even 100's sometimes. Not really much the dealer can do about it.

13 isn't excessive, it may be due to people taking test drives in the car before you bought it or just from moving and testing the car out. Mine had 1 mile on it before I took it on a test drive, it was in the back of the dealer's stock and had arrived there not too long before. Of course, after my test drive, there were 5 miles on it.

If it had under 100 miles, I would still consider it "new". Just remember that people will want to test drive the vehicle that they are interested in buying. I know that dealerships want customers to only drive the demo car, but if the options are different enough, I insist on driving the excact vehicle I'm interested in purchasing.

13 miles is nothing, when the car passes every 10,000 on the odometer you only wish it had 13
the miles on all the new cars will generally be the same cause they are moving them all the same distance, the dealership I got my 03 from had it right on the lot with 3 miles but they are tight for room so if they parked it on 1 of their many lots a new vehicle could have up to 40 miles which is not a lot seeing that they park car 5 minutes from my house and the dealer is 30 minutes away
But with that they usually tell you what lot it's parked on and that it has not been test driven and it will have 40 miles on it at most to get it here.
If they swap it from another dealer then 100-200 or even 400 miles is not uncommon

My 4Runner had ~40 miles on it before my first test drive. After my second "extended" test drive it had 140 miles. I bought it with 141 miles on the odo (the dealer had to fill it with gas before I took delivery).

Ok...I'm not too efficient in the picture taking/getting it on the computer thing...but I have a friend who is, and I know he has all the equipment. I will ask him to do this for me. It might be a few days before I can see him, and get him over here to take the pics.

Mileage allowance for "new"
Couple of sources I found when shopping (one was a dealer) suggested deducting about 50 cents/mile for anything over 100 or so. This would mostly apply to demos, I guess. Under 50 miles seems pretty much "new" in my experience.
