Acceptable Trans fluid

With all the different transmission fluid, dec II and IV and so forth, which was do our 4runners like?

I've a 97.

Any Dexron III, or Dex/Merc works fine. The best fluid, based on quality and cost, in MY opinion is Valvoline MaxLife Dex/Merc. A lot of people like Castrol's ATF as well.

I use the Pennzoil multi vehicle in anything calling for dex III It is also comes as a synthetic.

Mobile 1 DexIII is synthetic and the darling of the S series Saturn forum.
