You're right the relay pin is backwards. I did mess up there. Should read 87 not 87a.

Melting switches and shorting them due to pulling too much current was my concern. But at that point you should pop the 100A fuse or whatever you're running as well.

20-22 ga would work for the switch wiring, I have a lot of 12ga on my shelf so whatever you got I guess.

Man, you still have me confused. You can't melt a switch if it isn't in there, and why do you want to turn off the fuse block? Seems unnecessary to me.

OP had the switch, I was trying to clarify the set up he needed since it was never answered correctly and this was the second thread that came up on Google search. I'm going directly from a 100A breaker to the 12 junction fuse panel, no switch.
